VFAN is a professional network of financial advisors built to be a place where veterans learn from and rely on one another as members grow their businesses and advocate important causes within our firm and communities. Hiring our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program (CFP)
The Corporate Fellowship Program is a 12 week program held 3 times a year in 17 locations around the country, with Tampa Bay being the 2nd largest in the country. More than 1500 transitioning service members participate annually. Traditionally, it has connected transitioning service members to opportunities for hands-on corporate training, mentoring, and earning certifications while helping employers tap into a pool of top talent. Candidates are interviewed by host companies. Fellows complete on-the-job training with their host company (4 days a week). Friday is reserved for a “Fellowship Huddle” which helps participants transition into civilian life.
The Honor Foundation (THF) is a unique transition institute created exclusively for Navy SEALs and the U.S. Special Operations community, as well as their military spouses. We provide a straightforward process for professional development with 15 weeks of structured curriculum, from exploring their WHY to establishing network connections. Every program step is dedicated to preparing these outstanding men and women to realize their maximum potential during and after their service careers. We exist to serve others with Honor for life so that their next mission is always clear and continues to impact the world.
SOLDIER TO ASSOCIATE (S2S)
The Valor Network is honored to provide this unique educational experience for those who are looking to deepen their understanding of leadership. Our “Soldier to Associate” Leadership Series provides Raymond Jams an opportunity to earn from some of the top military minds at the firm as they share their take on military leadership as it relates to the corporate world. As the battlefield meets the conference room, tune in to panel discussions and short monthly videos to get a fresh perspective on leadership.
The Advisor Mastery Program (AMP) has a demonstrated track record of success with former Service Members. The program sponsored a partnership with Recruit Military in 2019 and 2020 to increase visibility and engage with top talent. Through Career Fairs, Targeted Email Campaigns and Banner Ads, the recruiting team was exposed to audiences of well over 2000 candidates at a time. The efforts were not in vain, as we hired 11 Veterans and 2 Military Spouses. For Veterans entering AMP, individuals will be able to supplement their earnings by qualifying for Veteran Readiness and Employment, or by applying their GI Bill Benefits.
NORWICH UNIVERSITY PARTNERSHIP
As Raymond James continues to encourage and welcome the next generation of financial advisors, we have heard from advisors who were former military that their career switch to the financial advisory world has been a fulfilling and rewarding career move. The Raymond James AMP program has partnered with Norwich University to provide an accredited Investment Management Professional Graduate Certificate, which allows military veterans to use the GI Bill to cover all costs. Once the Graduate Certificate is earned, an advisor trainee also has the ability to complete the full MBA degree by taking only four more online classes.
